In 1985, Carling O'Keefe discontinued Calgary Beer in
Alberta, but continued to produce it and sell it in Saskatchewan.
It returned to the Calgary market in July of 1987, and was available
until the end of the 1988 olympics.
Molson, having acquired Carling in 1989, only sold the Calgary
brand in Saskatchewan as well, but honoured the 1992 one hundredth
anniversary of the Calgary Brewery, with a limited edition 10,000
case production run for the local market.
Molson now produces Calgary Beer in Ontario, but Saskatchewan still
remains the only market for it in Canada. Both the beer and
it's distinctive logo were a part of Alberta's cultural heritage
for over one hundred years.
Let Molson know that it's time for Albertans to enjoy them again...
